Affordable holidays on the Lizard Peninsula

Lizard Point in Cornwall is the most southerly point in Great Britain. It is famous for the local serpentine stone, a unique rock which is dark green and veined with red and white. Serpentine ornaments were particularly fashionable in Victorian times but the village still has several serpentine turners working during the season. There are also craft shops, gift shops and galleries, the Smugglers for fantastic fresh fish and chips, the Witchball, Tophouse, and the famous Anne’s Pasties.

The site is open for holiday visitors all year round and is an ideal and affordable base to explore the Lizard Peninsula for families with young children, keen walkers (with easy access to the South Coast Path), cyclists (as the peninsula is quite flat!), bird watchers (who may see the Chough at Lizard Point), aspiring artists who can attend the taster sessions at Gallery Anthony in Mullion, surfers at Kennack Sands Surf School, and the night skies are dark enough for amateur astronomers to enjoy the  spectacular milky way!
